Notice of

 Holding “Monkeyking Award” of the Sixth China International Youth and Children’s “Tianyan Cup” Cartoon Contest

“Monkeyking Award” of the Sixth China International Youth and Children’s “Tianyan Cup” Cartoon Contest is launched and it is jointly held by China International Cartoon and Animation Festival Executive Committee, China National Youth Palace Association, China Association for Children’s Arts, Wit and Humor of Zhejiang People’s Fine Arts Publishing House, Hangzhou People’s Association of International Friendship and presented by Hangzhou Youth and Children’s Center. Matters related to this contest are as follows:

Ⅰ. Significances of Activity:
     As a mass cultural form which suits both refined and popular tastes, cartoon is exceedingly popular in teenagers featured with form variety, modeling flexibility, fine sense of humor and closeness of real life. China International Youth and Children’s Cartoon Contest requires youngsters to picture colorful world through cartoon based on their real life so as to advocate civilized habits, satirize unhealthy phenomenon and reflect new impression of daily life. And this contest would also promote popularity of cartoon among young people to achieve mutual exchanges and common development.

Ⅱ. Participating Objectives:

 Teenagers under 18 years old all over the world could join in the contest.

Ⅲ.Contest Duration:

November 2010-May 2011

Ⅳ. Contest Procedures:

1. Organizing committee and judging panel are established in Nov 2010. Organizing committee of the contest is composed of holding units and organizers and the judging panel is constituted by experts invited from home and abroad.

2. Contest notice and announcement of draft-levying shall be released by China National Youth Palace Association, China Association for Children’s Arts, Hangzhou People’s Association of International Friendship and through internet etc in Jan 2010.

3. Deadline of draft-levying is March 20, 2011(subject to postmark date).

4. From the last ten-day period of March to the end of April in 2011, preliminary and final assessments shall be made, organizing outstanding works’ exhibition and prize presentation and finishing printed sample reels. (Further notice would be made about exhibition and prize presentation).

5. Exhibition and prize presentation of the contest shall be carried out with the combination of China International Cartoon and Animation Festival in the end of April to the beginning of May in 2011.

6. Mailing work of certificates and sample reels shall be completed in May 2011.

Ⅴ. Job Requirements:
1. Cartoon fans in adolescent art clubs and training classes shall be organized and tutored by the units who received this notice in accordance with regulations of the contest for creation and contribution (with no limitation of manuscript amount).

2. Each organization shall organize to propagandize this contest in a large scale, and influence and drive more teenagers to attend this activity.

3. The contest will set the organizational prizes as per the contribution works’ number and awards situation.

4. For the contest contribution invited, please refer to the Appendix.
