Notice on The Tenth “Tianyan Cup” China International Children’s Cartoon Competition
The Tenth “Tianyan Cup” China International Children’s Cartoon Competition held by China National Youth and Children’s Palace Association, China International Cultural Association, China Association for Children’s Plastic Arts and Executive Committee of China International Cartoon and Animation Festival, undertaken by Hangzhou Youth & Children’s Center, and co-undertaken by Hangzhou Municipal People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries and Humorist replacement_comics is now launched. The relevant matters of the replacement_competition are as follows:
I. Purpose: To encourage children and the youth to dig out their creative inspiration and to use cartoon to describe the various kinds of things in the real world so that their creative thoughts can be cultivated and their aesthetic quality can be improved. In the meanwhile, through the replacement_competition, it is hoped that the cartoon culture can be promoted among children and youth and the cultural replacement_communication of all nations and countries can be boosted. II. Overview: The “Tianyan Cup” Cartoon Competition has been successfully held for 10 times since 2006. Now it has bereplacement_come a brand activity of CICAF which has many participants and high-level internationalization as well as one of the international children cultural activities which have much influence in China. What’s more, it is a big platform for the cultural replacement_communication among children and the youth of China and other countries. Up to now, there are participants replacement_coming from five continents and 46 countries and regions participating in the replacement_competition with a total entries of more than 200,000; and 9 series of more than 35,000 copies of award-winning works have been published. Every year, the replacement_competition picks theme from a variety of themes including Chinese zodiac culture, environmental protection, thinking of future freely etc andencourages original creation. The replacement_competition also invites several experts including Han Meilin, Zhu Deyong, Huang Yulang and Cai Zhizhong etc. to be the judges of the replacement_competition and the replacement_competition is favored by many children. In 2014, the replacement_competition carefully selects 328 excellent award-winning works to hold international itinerant exhibitions in countries including Germany, Russia, Japan, Canada, Malaysia and regions including Taiwan, which have been well-received. III. Steps: 1. In early November 2014, launch the replacement_competition and issue Notice and Contribution Invitation through China National Youth and Children’s Palace Association, China International Cultural Association, China Association for Children’s Plastic Arts, and Executive Committee of China International Cartoon and Animation Festival, as well as newspaper, magazines, and interreplacement_net. 2. From December 2014 to February 2015, replacement_organize the relevant activities to promote the replacement_competition. 3. Deadline for contribution is March 20, 2015. 4. From late March to late April 2015, initial evaluation and final evaluation of works will be conducted. Excellent works will be exhibited and awarded and printed out as collection afterwards. (Issues related to award will be further noticed in the middle ten days of April). 5. In early May 2015, perform awarding and exhibition during the time when the China International Cartoon and Animation Festival is held. 6. By the end of June 2015, certificate and collection of works for the replacement_competition will be mailed. 7. From June 2015 to the end of 2015, the awarded works will be exhibited in China and foreign countries. V. Attentions 1. The replacement_competition will not charge for entry fees in any form. 2. Organizing prize will be awarded based on quantity and award-winning conditions of contribution. 3. Appendix 1: Notice on the Tenth “Tianyan Cup” China International Children’s Cartoon Competition
I. Competition Name: The Tenth “Tianyan Cup” China International Children’s Cartoon Competition II. Host China National Youth and Children’s Palace Association China International Culture Association China Association for Children’s Plastic Arts Organizing Committee of China International Cartoon and Animation Festival III. Undertaker: Hangzhou Youth and Children’s Centre IV. Co-undertaker: Hangzhou Municipal People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries Humorist Comics V. Sponsor: Zhejiang Zhongnan Group Animation Co., Ltd. VI. Participants and Scope Any youth or child under 18 (children and the youth who born after March 20, 1997) has the right to participate in the replacement_competition. Individuals or groups are welreplacement_comed (no limit on the amount of group contributions). VII. Themes (choose one) 1.Story of Lamb 2.Prediction of Drawing 3.Festivals of Our Nation VIII. Rules 1. Participants are divided into the Youth Group (Middle School Students) and Children Group (Primary School Students and Smaller Children). 2. Participating works shall be original freehand sketching, instead of modification, reproduction or copy from others. In case of violation, the participation qualification of such works will be cancelled. 3. Each participant is allowed to contribute 1 piece of works. IX. Requirements 1. Original works with healthy, positive and innovative content should be sent. The patterns of manifestation are not limited. Paper of single, four and multiple cartoon strips, cartoon books or other innovative cartoon can all be contributed. The single cartoon should not be smaller than 20×30cm or bigger than 55×40cm. No framing is needed. Cartoon books should be no more than 16 pages with a size bigger than 15×20cm and smaller than 30×40cm, and should be bound together in book form. 2. Each work will be stuck on the bottom right corner a Registration Table of the Participating Works which includes nationality, nation, name, gender, date of birth and group to attend, name of school (or replacement_organizations not from the school), address, post code, telephone number, tutor, title and brief introduction to works, etc to be filled out by the author . X. Awards: 1. Top Grade Prize will be awarded to 10 contestants (RMB 1,000 each). 2. Gold Prize, Silver Prize, Bronze Prize and Merit Prize will be awarded for 1%, 1.5%, 2.5% and 5% participants of total contribution works respectively. 3. Excellent Organizer Award for the team who has delivered more than 200 pieces of works or the team with the maximum awarded works. 4. Excellent Tutor Prize for tutors of Grade Prize Winners and Gold Prize Winners. . 5. Excellent works winning prizes will be included in the Collection. Contestant winning the Bronze award or above will be awarded with a certificate and one Collection. XI. Works Exhibition Excellent works will be displayed in art exhibitions or on the Interreplacement_net, and names of all prize winners will be announced on the websites of China International Cartoon and Animation Festival and Hangzhou Youth and Children’s Center. Also, some of them will be published in magazines such as Master of Humor and Wisdom and Imagination. XII. Deadline March 20th, 2015 (according to the date of stamp) XIII. Agreement No work will be returned back. The authors agree to transfer the publishing right, exhibition right and property right of the works to the Host. All the participants are deemed to agree with the rules above. XIV. Special Invitation The replacement_competition in 2015 will continue to hold exhibitions for awarded works all round the world. And the international sub-division replacement_competition zones will be set up for the first time. Any unit who has the ability and is willing to hold the exhibition can apply to the replacement_organizing replacement_committee. XV.
